Foundational Pillars
We are respectful, patient, loving
professional humans
that connect to our community
and are courageous to the core
Values
Home: Committed to remaining small, non-hierarchical and responsive to the needs of children. A neighborhood-nested school working in partnership with the surrounding community to create an environment that is healthier for children. Blurring the boundaries of home, school and community.
Equity: Work to create diverse, inclusive learning environments that work for justice as the foundation of peace. As Montessorians, we believe children’s unique capacity to adapt to their environment makes childhood the key to the long-term improvement of society and our greatest hope for a more peaceful world.
Teacher-Led: Attention will be given to creating learning environments for the adults in the same fashion that Montessori environments are constructed for the child. We will empower staff members to have create their autonomy, ownership and intrinsic inspiration towards continual improvement
Nature: Emphasizing the non-separation between nature and human nature.
Beauty: Cultivating a deep beauty in all things – in the design, culture and artistic expression within our school environments; in our interactions with one another; and in our relationship with ourselves.
Community: Partnering with our community through volunteering events or at local service facilities; bringing families into the school for teamwork and education.
Life-long learning: Inspiring a desire to learn is invaluable for children, their families and our teachers.
Communication: Open, honest communication with children, families and each other is the only way that we can have true trust in our community. We will practice having courageous conversations and support each other through our good and bad times.
Teamwork: Makes the dream work.
